Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval
in accordance with Rule 6 of the Contract Procedure Rules for the
purchase of an A4 scanner along with 5 year warrantee cover (onsite
swap service) for the Records Management service as part of the
ongoing Paperlight Office Project.
 
The reason for the decision is purchase of the
scanner is required to enable efficient progression of the
Council’s Paperlight Office Project and a compliant
procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance with Rule 6
of the Contract Procedure Rules.
 

Decision

That, in accordance with Rule 6 of the
Contract Procedure Rules, the purchase of an Epson A4 DS970
scanner and 5 year cover (CoverPlus Onsite Swap Service) is
approved for the Records Management service.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing/not aware the contract – This
was considered and rejected as failure to obtain a scanner would
severely hinder the progress of the Paperlight Office
Project.
