Purpose

The alternative option of doing nothing was
considered and rejected on the basis that additional capacity is
required to prevent children coming into care or being sentenced to
custodial sentences due to the risk posed by harmful sexual
behaviour.
 

Decision

The Interim Executive Director
(Children’s Services) and Executive Director (Resources) are
recommended to agree to the establishment of an Advanced Shield
Social Worker post, grade M, within the Shield Team.
