Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek
permission to disestablish two existing posts in the Whole Life
Commissioning Team, which support the delivery of independent
living services by the Council and replace them by establishing two
new posts, which have been designed to reflect the roles and
responsibilities needed to support these services
effectively.  This also supports the
continue implementation of the Aids and Adaptations Pathway review
approved by the Executive Director (Health and Social Care) in
August 2024.

Decision

 
            
(i)                  
Disestablish 1.0 FTE Commissioning Manager post (Grade P; position
100014);
           
(ii)                  
Disestablish 1.0 FTE Commissioning and Contracts Officer post
(Grade M; position 100544);
         
(iii)                  
Establish 1.0 FTE Independent Living Operational Manager post
(Grade N); and
         
(iv)                  
Esatbalish 1.0 FTE Independent Living Contracts Officer post (Grade
K).

Alternative options considered

Consideration was given to not deleting the
existing posts and commencing a recruitment exercise to fill the
posts. This option was rejected due to problems retaining staff in
these roles as the job descriptions to not accurately reflect the
roles and responsibilities needed in this area.
