Purpose

The purpose of this decision is to extend the
existing engagement of interim Head of Permanence and Sufficiency
from 1 August 2025 to 12 September 2025 to enable a handover period
with the permanent postholder who commences in post in August
2025.
 
The cost of extending the
arrangement until 12 September 2025 will be
£0.021m.  This will be an in-year
pressure in the current year.
 

Decision

That the Chief Executive agrees
to the extension of the Interim Head of Permanence and Sufficiency
from 1 August 2025 to 12 September 2025.
 

Alternative options considered

The option to not extend the interim Head of
Permanency and Sufficiency has been considered and rejected due to
the need to ensure a proper handover takes place which is crucial
given the stage of improvement the service is at.
