Purpose

To seek approval of the rent review for Unit
7 Moorfield Centre, Shevingtons Lane, Kirkby, on the main
terms and conditions referred to in this report.
 

Decision

The Head of Assets approves the rent review for
Unit 7 Moorfield Centre, Shevingtons Lane,
Kirkby, on the main terms and conditions referred to in this
report, whilst authorising the Head of Legal Services to prepare
and complete the necessary legal documentation.
 

Alternative options considered

Rent reviews are intended to allow the
landlord and tenant to adjust the rent to the current or market
rent at certain points in time – the rent review dates
specified in the lease agreement. The Council, as landlord, could
elect not to action the rent review, however, in order to
demonstrate good asset management practice and to increase income
generation, this option has been rejected, and the rent review has
been conducted.
