Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval
to make an unconditional offer to purchase a property in
Kirkby.
 

Decision

The Assistant Executive Director (Corporate
Support), in consultation with the Cabinet Member (Resources) and
the Cabinet Member (Children’s Services) is recommended to
agree to the submission of an unconditional offer for the purchase
of a property in Kirkby as outlined in Appendix A of the attached
report.

Alternative options considered

The procurement of a property in Kirkby
provides the Council with an opportunity to mitigate against
projected sufficiency pressures in secondary school placements in
Kirkby, the option of not progressing was considered and
discounted.
