Purpose

To approve the utilisation of a National
Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England working with
partners Culture Knowsley, Shakespeare North
Playhouse, Heart of Glass, Make CIC & Adlib. The project aims
to make a step change in the ambition, diversity, scale &
sustainability of cultural opportunities for children & young
people in Knowsley.
 

Decision

The Executive Director (Community and
Neighbourhoods) in consultation with the Cabinet Member for
Community and Neighbourhoods is recommended to: 
 

Note the acceptance of external
grant funding from Arts Council England of £0.650m (as shown
in Appendix B); 

 

Approve the utilisation of Arts
Council England external grant funding to be spent in accordance
with the grant funding bid submission for a Knowsley Place
Partnership Bid called ‘This Place This Stage’

 

Alternative options considered

Not accepting the grant would result in the
Council rejecting £0.650m of funding that can be used to
create cultural opportunities, engagement, participation, skills
development and pathways for Knowsley’s children and young
people. Therefore, the option not to accept the grant was
rejected.
