Purpose
This report sets out
recommendations in relation to the Business Support and Executive
Support Services with a view to building additional capacity in the
support of Council service delivery to ensure effective business
continuity, and Chief Officer executive support, for now and into
the future.
Decision
That the following changes be
agreed with immediate effect:
(i)
the creation of an additional, permanent full time Business Support
Officer post (grade G).
(ii)
the creation of an additional, permanent full time Business Support
Assistant post (grade C – E).
(iii)
the re-grading of all grade C and grade D Business Support
Assistant posts to maximum grade E – i.e. to remove the bar
currently in place and to ensure that, where necessary (and in
accordance with the competency framework), all postholders may
progress through the grades C to E.
(iv)
the deletion of one permanent full time Democratic Services and
Business Support Apprentice post (grade B).
(v)
the permanent change of hours to one Executive Support Assistant
grade G post from 1.0 FTE to 0.75 FTE.
(vi)
the permanent change of hours to four Business Support Assistant
grade E posts, resulting in an overall reduction of 1.0 FTE.
