Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek
approval, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5 , for
the award of contract to Kärcher
(UK) Ltd for the Purchase of Karcher Trailer Pressure Washer.
 
The reason for the decision is that a
compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in accordance
with Contract Procedure Rule 7, and the winning bidder has been
identified as providing the most economically advantageous offer to
the Council.

Decision

(i) That, in
accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5, a contract be
awarded to Kärcher (UK) Ltd for
the Purchase of Karcher Trailer Pressure Washer.
 
(ii) That the Procurement Team be authorised
to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the relevant
contract documentation.

Alternative options considered

Continue the hiring of a similar machine: This
option was considered and rejected due to the increasing hire costs
and the lack of availability of the equipment. This option would
not provide the productivity and reliability levels required for
the effective delivery of the routine schedules by the
Environmental Sustainability and Streetscene Service. By continuing to hire this
would also have involved the return of a grant secured from Keep
Britain Tidy to fund a proportion of the purchase.
