Purpose

The purpose of this report is
to seek approval, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5,
for the award of a JCT Minor Works Building
(2016) Contract to Horticon Limited for the playground
re-development of Millennium Garden at Knowsley Central Primary School,
Huyton.
 
The reason for the decision is
that a compliant procurement exercise has been undertaken in
accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 7, and the winning bidder
has been identified as providing the most economically advantageous
offer to the Council.
 

Decision

(i) That, in accordance with
Contract Procedure Rule 7.7.5, a JCT Minor Works Building (2016)
Contract be awarded to Horticon Limited
for the playground
re-development of Millennium Garden at Knowsley Central Primary
School, Huyton.
 
(ii) That the Procurement Team be
authorised to make the necessary
arrangements for the issue of the relevant contract
documentation.
 

Alternative options considered

Do nothing: This option was
considered and rejected because Knowsley Central School would be
unable to increase capacity for pupils in September 2023 without
this work.
 
Deliver in house: This option
was considered and rejected as the Council does not have the skills
to deliver this work in house.
