Purpose

The Knowsley Waste and Collection Policies 2026 sets out the services that the Council will provide to manage Knowsley’s household waste in a safe and cost-effective way. As the Government implements its Simpler Recycling changes for waste so too must the Council make changes to the way in which it collects and manages waste. New policies around the collection of food waste and the expansion of materials available for recycling have been added to the document in line with these statutory changes.

As these changes impact the whole borough this is an item that must be considered as a key decision.
