Purpose
To seek authorisation to enable the Council to enter into a Grant Funding Agreement with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority relating to the Consolidated Active Travel Fund – Revenue for Cycle Storage.
Decision
The Executive Director (Place) and Executive Director Resources and Partnerships in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Economic Development and the Cabinet Member for Resources.
i. Approve the acceptance of £0.010m external Consolidated Active Travel Fund revenue grant funding from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority in relation to cycle storage.
ii. Authorise the Council to enter into a Grant Funding Agreement with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, in relation to the Consolidated Active Travel Fund for cycle stand facilities.
iii. Approve the inclusion of £0.010m of Revenue Grant into the 2026-27 Highways Revenue Budget.
iv. Authorise the Head of Legal Services to finalise and then complete the terms of the Grant Funding Agreement referenced in paragraph (b) above.
Alternative options considered
Not to sign the Grant Funding Agreement was considered and rejected as this would result in funding being lost and hence the opportunity to invest in improvements to the sustainable travel network.
