Decision

(i)       That, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 5.3.2, a contract be awarded to 3D Property Maintenance for Proposed Single Storey Rear Bedroom and Shower Room Extension at Roughwood Drive, Kirkby, L33; and

(ii)       That the Procurement Team be authorised to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the relevant contract documentation.

Alternative options considered

This option was considered and rejected due to the requirement to meet both the short term and long-term needs of the disabled resident. Not carrying out adaptations for this disabled resident would potentially result in the requirement to provide additional care packages which would incur additional costs to Adult Social Care. The provision of these works is likely to reduce the need for formal paid care.

Deliver in house:  

This option was considered and rejected due to the fact that the Local Authority do not have any direct in - house building teams who could carry out the adaptation works required.

Retender:  

The Council could retender the works but there is a risk that the works would cost more due to the rising costs of goods in the construction sector.
