Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval for the surrender of the existing lease at St Chad’s Parade and the grant of a temporary license to a new tenant on the terms detailed in this report.

Decision

The Director Development and Infrastructure hereby:

1. Approves the surrender of lease on the terms detailed in this report.
2. Approves the grant of a temporary licence on the terms detailed in this report.

Authorises the Head of Legal Services to prepare and complete the necessary legal documentation

Alternative options considered

The leaseholder has the right to surrender the lease. Whilst the Council could elect not to proceed with the licence on the agreed terms, this would result in the property becoming vacant, with the ongoing holding and management costs falling to the Council.
