Purpose

The proposed fixed term posts will provide dedicated capacity to support delivery of the Adult Social Care (ASC) Debt Recovery Pilot, enabling the Council to strengthen recovery arrangements, improve collection rates, reduce financial risk arising from aged debt and establish robust evidence to inform future long-term service arrangements.

Decision

That the Executive Director (Resources and Partnerships) approves: -

·       The establishment of 1 x Revenues Officer (Grade G) on a fixed-term basis for 15 months

The establishment of 1 x Litigation Legal Assistant (Grade H) on a fixed-term basis for 15 months

Alternative options considered

Utilising existing resources was considered and rejected. Existing capacity across Exchequer and Legal Services is already fully committed to core service delivery requirements and would be insufficient to deliver the pilot without adversely impacting statutory and operational responsibilities.
