Purpose

This report seeks to increase the establishment of an existing post from 0.83 FTE to full time (1.0 FTE) within the Whole Life Commissioning Team. This increase is designed to support the team to undertake more financial means tests for the Disabled Facilities Grant.

Decision

That the Executive Director (Resources and Partnerships) and the Director of Adult Social Care and Commissioning:

             (i)         Increase permanent Grants Officer (Grade G, position K011293) post to 1.0 FTE (from 0.83 FTE previous employee).

Alternative options considered

Do Nothing:

This option was considered and rejected as the waiting times financial means testing for the Disabled Facilities Grant is increasing and without additional resources vulnerable people will have to keep waiting longer for the aids and adaptations that they have been assessed as needing.
