Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval to the legal documentation required to facilitate the development of land at Alchemy Way, Knowsley Business Park. The proposed arrangements will enable the delivery of a significant industrial and logistics development whilst securing future access rights and development opportunities for land located to the east of the development site.

Decision

The Director Development and Infrastructure hereby:

1)    Approves the legal documentation required to facilitate the development of land at Alchemy Way, Knowsley Business Park, including the Agreement for Easement and Easements, and Option Agreement, as detailed in this report; and

2)    Authorises the Head of Legal Services to prepare and complete the necessary legal documentation.

Alternative options considered

The Council could decide not to grant the easement and associated documentation; however this would prevent a significant property development and the associated economic benefits.
