Purpose

The purpose of this report is to approve backpay for an officer whose role has been determined, through the job evaluation process as befitting of a higher grade. The post in question should therefore have been redesignated from a Housing Enforcement Officer (Grade J) to an Environmental Health Officer (Grade L/M).

The job evaluation process identified that between 1 August 2020 and 31 August 2024, the post holder’s role changed considerably and therefore his job description and Grade were incorrect. 

Decision

That the Assistant Executive Director (Neighbourhoods and Commercial Services) approved:

·       the backdating of pay applicable to the change of grade for the post between 1 August 2020 and 31 August 2024.
