Purpose

To seek approval to declare the nomination by Friends of Gellings Riding School Ltd for Gellings Riding School, Gellings Lane, Knowsley Village and surrounding land to be listed as an Asset of Community Value, pursuant to the provisions of the Localism Act 2011, as unsuccessful and to include the nomination on the List of Unsuccessful Nominations having found that it failed to meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations.

Decision

The Executive Director (Resources) in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Resources, hereby:

i)        Notes the nomination by Friends of Gellings Riding School Ltd for the Gellings Riding School, Gellings Lane, Knowsley Village and surrounding land to be listed as an Asset of Community Value, pursuant to the provisions of the Localism Act 2011;

ii)        Agrees that the nomination should be confirmed as unsuccessful; and

iii)       Agrees to include the nomination on the Council’s List of Unsuccessful Nominations having found that it failed to meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations.

Alternative options considered

None. The Council is required to implement procedures in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and as set out in the Regulations which accompany the Act, which relate to Assets of Community Value. The Council has to determine the nomination of the Asset in accordance with the Act and Regulations.
