Purpose

The purpose of the report is to seek approval in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 12.2.3(a), to modify the contract with Future Garments Ltd/Eurox for the Purchase of PPE/Workwear as provided for within the existing  contract ‘s particulars, in Part 1. Contract Information,to extend for 12 months to enable us to enter into a collaborative exercise with the LCR.

The reasons for the decision are, as required by Contract Procedure Rule 12.2.3

 (a): The modification is provided for within the existing contract in precise and clear detail with regards to scope, nature and conditions under which he modification may be used.

Decision

(i)       That, in accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 12.2.3(a), the contract with Future Garments Ltd/Eurox for the Purchase of PPE/Workwear be modified by extending the term as provided for within the existing contract’s particulars, in Part 1. Contract Information from 01/04/2024 to 31/03/2025 by 12 months to enable us to enter into a collaborative exercise with the Liverpool City Region (LCR); and

(ii)       That the Procurement Team be authorised to issue the relevant contract modification documentation.

Alternative options considered

Do Nothing: This option was considered and rejected as the service requires PPE to be fully compliant and operational.

Seek Competition (Quotation / Tender): Tender exercise already underway for a collaborative contract across the LCR to achieve the best quality and value for money. The timeline for this exercise necessitates the extension of current contract to maintain provision of PPE/ workwear until new contract is awarded.
