Purpose

To seek approval, in accordance with Contract
Procedure Rule 6.5.2, for the award of contract to Futurebuild for
enhancement and improvement works to 16-20 Eccleston Street,
Prescot.
 
A compliant procurement exercise has been
undertaken, and the winning bidder has been identified as providing
the most economically advantageous offer to the Council.
 
The repair and enhancement of these properties
will improve the general appearance of the town centre and main
pedestrian public realm, will help attract new tenants to the
vacant commercial unit (at 20 Eccleston Street), help retain
existing tenants and bring the three vacant first and second floor
residential units back into use, with the potential for these units
to be utilised by the Council’s housing team.

Decision

The Assistant Executive Director Development
and Infrastructure hereby:
 
(i)       Approves, in
accordance with Contract Procedure Rule 6.5.2, a JCT IC 2016
Intermediate Building Contract to Futurebuild Ltd for 16-20
Eccleston Street, Prescot for enhancement and improvement
Works.
(ii)       Authorises the Procurement
Team to make the necessary arrangements for the issue of the
relevant contract documentation.
