Purpose

This policy outlines the council’s
approach to discharging its homelessness duty into the private
rented sector (PRS) in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act
2017. It formalises how the council will support eligible
households in securing appropriate private rented accommodation.
The policy is intended to provide greater housing stability for
households, reduce reliance on temporary accommodation, and offer
more sustainable housing solutions in partnership with the private
sector.
