Purpose

To issue a notice of variation and implement
changes to our parking charges to deliver on the priorities set out
in the Kerbside Strategy and Air Quality Action Plan.

Decision

1.         
To authorise increases to the charges for the
following types of parking permissions: Residents Motorcycles,
Teachers, Doctors, Business and Business all zone permits, cashless
On-street and car park charges with the increase starting from 6%
to a maximum of 18%. To authorise the increase to charges for Car
Club, Healthcare, Personal Carers permits and Visitors and Traders
Vouchers by 2.7 %. (A full breakdown of the increases is displayed
in Tables 1 to 5).
 

2.         
To authorise the increase in the charge of the multi
permit surcharge to £125.00. This would commence from 07
April 2025.
 

3.         
To authorise the increase in the diesel parking
surcharge for cashless on street and car park parking from 50% to
75%. This would commence from 07 April 2025.
 

4.         
To authorise the increase of 2.7% in the
administration charge applied to permit refunds and permit
amendments. This would commence from 07 April 2025.
 

5.         
The note the potential combined additional income
arising from this report of £2,733,238 per annum.
 

6.         
To authorise the publication of Variation Notices
under Section 46A and Section 35C of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984, in order to give effect to the recommended changes
proposed in this report.
 

7.         
To have regard to the Equalities Impact Assessment
prepared for the purposes of this report (Appendix A).
