Purpose

Southbank BID’s current five-year term
ends on 30 September 2024. A cabinet member decision is required to
‘formally consider the Southbank BID proposals and instruct
the Returning Officer to hold the necessary third term
ballot’ to enable the BID to continue operating.

The council is statutorily bound to consider the BID proposal and
hold a ballot on the BIDs behalf unless the proposal conflicts any
formally adopted and published policy by the council, or it is
likely to have a significantly disproportionate financial burden on
any person or class of persons.
