Purpose

This report presents the proposals for the
construction of a Family Resource Centre to be situated within
London Borough of Lambeth. The Centre will serve as a Contact and
Family Assessment Centre for children and families in the community
and young people looked after by the Council, as well as other
functions to use the building to its full potential.
The existing site identified is known as ‘Cherry Tree’,
located at 8 Barston Road, West Norwood, SE27 9HE will be
re-designed to meet the borough’s current demand for a Family
Resource Centre.
The report also recommends allocating the construction budget from
the Capital Investment programme 2020-25 approved by the Cabinet in
July 2020.

Decision

1.          
To approve the award of the JCT Intermediate contract 2016 with
contractor’s design portion to ETEC Contract Services Ltd.
for the Cherry Tree Centre Project works with a maximum contract
sum of £858,030 commencing 16 October 2023 with a
construction period of 24 weeks.

 
2.          
To allocate £1,336,620 from
the currently unallocated theme budget for Childrens Services
within the existing Capital Investment Programme (CIP) approved by
Cabinet in July 2020 to fund this award and all other project
costs.
