Purpose
Approval to award contracts under the Provider
Selection Regime Direct Award Process C, for the delivery of NHS
Health Checks from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, with an option to
extend for a further three years (three consecutive one-year terms)
to 31 March 2030 to all Lambeth GP Practices organised into nine
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) as the most suitable providers to
deliver NHS Health Checks to their eligible patients.
The redesigned service will continue to be based on the most
relevant and up to date national guidelines (e.g. NHS Health Check
best practice guidance 2019 and NHS Health Check programme
Standards July 2020) and considers local insight and priorities
that have been further shaped during the course of the current
contract.
The principal objective is to reduce the chance of a heart attack,
stroke or developing some forms of dementia for Lambeth’s
eligible population, providing individuals with behavioural support
and, where appropriate, pharmacological treatment.
