Purpose

To vary the existing contract with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust Specialist Stop Smoking service to include the delivery of the Smokefree Generation ambitions of expanding existing local smoking cessation services. The current contract runs from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2026 on an initial three-year basis with an option to extend for a further two years.

The contract variation period is for 30 months from 1 April 2026 until 30 September 2028.

Lambeth has been awarded a recurrent ring-fenced grant within its overarching Public Health Grant that will enable the council to continue to provide its commissioned expanded community-based models to improve access to and delivery of smoking cessation services in the community.

Decision

1. To approve a variation of the Stop Smoking Contract with Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to include the delivery of the Smokefree Generation programme from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2028 for a total amount of £599,285 bringing the annual value to £694, 058 and the total contract value to £3,306, 637.
