Purpose

This decision will set out the package of
support for residents most impacted by the cost of living crisis in
2024/25.

Decision

To
agree the creation of a ringfenced cost-of-living/tackling poverty
reserve to provide ongoing support to the borough’s most
financially precarious residents.
To
agree the framework for distribution of the £5.3m in 2024/25
comprising of the Household Support Fund and council monies as
detailed in paragraph 2.2.
To
agree the changes to the criteria for the council’s local
welfare support (Emergency Support Scheme) as set out in paragraph
2.8.
To
agree the council will look more broadly at a long-term approach to
reducing the incidence and impact of poverty in Lambeth as part of
our commitment to making Lambeth a borough of equity and
justice.
