Purpose

This report sets out a proposal to deliver a
series of localised parking improvements across the borough. The
proposal focuses on requests received from residents, ward members,
and other Lambeth Departments.

This report seeks approval to undertake statutory consultation on
these proposals to introduce and amend parking bays and waiting
restrictions across the borough.

Decision

To issue scheme approval for the
proposals outlined in section 2 of this report and illustrated in
Appendix A and B at an estimated cost of £10,000 to be
delivered, financial year 2024/25.

 

Subject to the above approval to
authorise officers to carry out statutory consultation upon the
abovementioned scheme, in accordance with the Local
Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales)
Regulations 1996.

 

That subject to the above approval
at recommendation 1 and having due regard to the outcome of the
consultation referred above, to agree to the implementation of
these measures under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 124 and Schedule 1 and
Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
subject to no material objections resulting from the statutory
consultation process but that any such objections received will be
considered by way of a separate written report to a Director or
Assistant Director of Residents Services before a decision is
reached on whether or not to make the Order.

 

To exercise discretion not to hold a
public inquiry pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Local Authorities
Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations
1996.

 

To have regard to the Equality
Impact Assessment prepared for the purposes of this report attached
at Appendix C.
