Purpose

Seeks approval for the release of funding from
the approved Sustainable Transport and Public Realm capital
allocation to support the completion of Phase 3 of the agreed
Transport Strategy Programme. The Programme covers a range of
infrastructure interventions that will deliver transformative
change to street layouts and reduce traffic in the borough,
promoting sustainable travel and supporting the council’s
climate change response.

Decision

To approve funding to deliver Phase 3 of the
Transport Strategy Programme to the projected value of £9,273,000 beginning in September 2024 and
ending in March 2026.

 

To
approve the spend of £3,492,000 from the Sustainable
Transport and Public Realm capital allocation set by cabinet in
July 2020.

 

To
delegate authority to a Director or Assistant Director in Resident
and Enabling Services to authorisethe statutory
consultations for traffic and parking restrictions associated with
the schemes included in the transport programme outlined in table 3
under Regulation 6 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders
(Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (the 1996
Regulations) provided approval is obtained from the
Cabinet Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean
Air

 

To
delegate authority to the Assistant Director of Climate Change and
Strategic Transport to vary the projects delivered as part of the
programmes set out in this report, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean Air.
