Purpose
This report considers the responses to the
statutory consultation carried out in April 2024 relating to the
addition of 84 new hangar sites in phase 9 of the cycle hangar
programme. In response to representations received it recommends to
proceed with the installation of 82 hangars as
advertised.
Decision
(1)
To make traffic management orders facilitating the installation of
82 cycle hangars at the locations set out in Appendix A and Appendix B, following consideration of
representations and objections received during the statutory
consultation as detailed in this report and set out in Appendix F
(Objections to Cycle hangars) and Appendix G (Support for Hangars).
Total cost of £315,700 to be funded from the existing project
budget for Cycle Hangars project within the Parking theme of the
existing Capital Investment programme (CIP), with on-street parking
bay amendments and cycle hangar installations anticipated to be
implemented by end of Sep 2024.

To have regard to the Equality Impact Assessment prepared for the
purposes of this report (Appendix H)

To exercise discretion not to hold a public inquiry pursuant to
Regulation 9 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure)
(England and Wales) Regulations 1996.
