Decision
1. To issue scheme approval for the proposals
outlined in section 2 of this report and illustrated in Appendix A
and B at an estimated cost of £10,000 to be delivered,
November/December 2024.
2. Having given
consideration to representations and objections received
during statutory consultation (appendix D) to agree to the
implementation of all measures, with the exception of Bowden
Street, as shown in Appendix A and Appendix B, and the making of
traffic management orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 124 and
Schedule 1 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
3. To authorise officers to carry out a further
statutory consultation on the revised proposal for parking
restrictions in Bowden Street as shown in Appendix A, in accordance
with the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure)
(England and Wales) Regulations 1996.
4. That having due regard to the outcome of the
consultation referred to in recommendation 2 above, for revised
proposals in Bowden Street, to agree to the implementation of these
measures under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 124 and Schedule 1 and Part
IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, subject
to no material objections resulting from the statutory consultation
process but that any such objections received will be considered by
way of a separate written report to a Director or Assistant
Director of Residents Services before a decision is reached on
whether or not to make the Order.
5. Exercise discretion not to hold a public
inquiry pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Local Authorities Traffic
Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996.
6. To have regard to the Equality Impact
Assessment prepared for the purposes of this report (Appendix
C).
