The Appeals Committee is responsible for hearing and deciding on appeals against decisions made by the Council, provided these appeals do not fall under the remit of another committee. Its decisions affect individuals or groups who have lodged an appeal against a Council decision. Members must have completed specific training on determining appeals. To ensure impartiality, members of the Planning Regulatory Committee cannot sit on the Appeals Committee if they have previously considered a related planning application when deciding on formal objections to Tree Preservation Orders.
