About
The Council Business Committee is responsible for managing the council's internal operations and decision-making processes. It makes appointments to other committees and external bodies, and determines how the council responds to consultations. The committee also agrees the annual meeting schedule and can make urgent decisions on behalf of the full council when necessary.
Additionally, it handles constitutional amendments (with specific exceptions), manages councillor training and development, and oversees civic and ceremonial matters, including the selection of future Mayors.
