About

The Planning Regulatory Committee is responsible for making decisions on town and country planning matters, including development control, highways, and rights of way.

It determines applications for planning permission, listed building consent, and conservation area consent, as well as related planning legislation. The committee also authorises agreements for land development, issues lawful use certificates, grants advertisement consents, and takes enforcement action for breaches of planning control. It exercises powers related to tree preservation, hedgerows, advertisements, and limestone pavements, and manages functions under the Highways Act 1980 concerning public rights of way.
