Purpose

Brief Description

Day Services for Younger People with Dementia are provided by Inspire North, under contract to Leeds City Council. The current contract expires on 31st March 2027, so a Decision is required to secure provision from April 1st 2027.

Impact On Wards

The service is provided for the Leeds population living with younger onset of dementia. The service is therefore not specific for the population of any ward or wards, but the location of the day centre is at Cottingley Drive, LS11 0JT, located in Beeston & Holbeck Ward.

Financial and procurement implications

The annual contract price for 2026-27 is £307,322. A decision to modify and extend the current contract for two further years would require a Key Decision.

Partnership working

The contract is joint-funded by the NHS via an agreement with the Leeds Office of the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board. The current NHS contribution (included in the above amount, not additional to it) is £114,688pa.

Decision

The Chief Officer, Resources & Strategy approved the modification of the contract ‘Day Services for Younger People With Dementia’ held by Inspire North, ref: DN252936, under Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCRs). The effect of the proposed modification would be to extend the contract by 2 years, from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2029, at the price of £627,844 for the contract term (i.e. £313,922pa.).
