Purpose

To seek approval to
accept grant funding for the delivery of Skills Bootcamps across
Leicester and Leicestershire for delivery from April 2026 to
September 2027.

Decision

To:
(a) accept Department
for Education (DfE) revenue grant funding for Skills Bootcamp of
£1.5m, and
(b) agree for the City
Council to act as accountable body for the financial management of
these funds and for any subsequent year allocations.

Reasons for the decision

This project will
support training for unemployed and employed individuals to upskill
themselves in a range of subjects such as digital, green skills,
construction, logistics and other subject area, which will help
grow the economy and create further employment opportunities for
the individuals.
