About

The Eastbourne Borough Council Scrutiny Committee provides overview and scrutiny for the Council's executive functions. It examines decisions made by the Cabinet and can investigate the actions of external organisations that impact Eastbourne residents, making reports and recommendations. The committee, composed of eleven non-Cabinet councillors and chaired by an opposition member, can form task groups to conduct investigations. These task groups, typically comprising two councillors, will report their findings but do not have decision-making powers. Meetings are generally open to the public.
