Purpose
Off-Street
Car parking enforcement in Eastbourne currently falls under
criminal law, however the Government made the decision that car
parking enforcement should be decriminalised and dealt with under
Civil Law in 2004. The delegation for civil enforcement sits with
ESCC and EBC will need to request ESCC support and approval to
apply to the Department of Transport for car parking enforcement to
be de-criminalised.
Agreement is therefore sought
to enter negotiations with ESCC to seek their agreement for the
application to the Department of Transport to decriminalise parking
enforcement for EBC off street car parks
and to deal with them under civil law going forward.
