Purpose

A £3.9m Government grant
has been awarded to help improve the energy efficiency of private
homes in East Sussex that are in fuel poverty. Lewes District
Council is leading the consortium to deliver this.

Content

(Key
decision):
 
(1) To note the successful
Lewes District Council (LDC) led consortium bid to the Warm Homes:
Local Grant scheme, which has secured £3.9m across East
Sussex authorities.
 
(2) To authorise the Assistant
Director – Housing, Assets and Development, in consultation
with the Director of Finance and Performance and Cabinet member for
climate, nature and food systems, to carry out all necessary
actions to facilitate the recommendations and deliver the
programme, including feasibility, financing, appointment of
professional services, procurement, contract award(s), and
determining the terms of, and authorising the execution of, all
necessary documentation in accordance with the funding
parameters.
 
Recommended to Full Council (Budget and policy
framework):
 
(3) To approve an allocation of
up to £3.9m in the General Fund Capital Programme, to be
financed in full by the grant funding secured as above, subject to
Full Council approval.
