Purpose
To consider proposals concerning variation of the Bus Franchising Scheme and Contract Management approvals.
Decision
RESOLVED – That in relation to Bus Franchising Programme Update:
(a) the proposal to vary The Liverpool City Region Franchising Scheme for Buses 2023 be noted;
(b) the Mayor agreed to the vary the Franchising Scheme in the manner proposed in the report; and
(c) delegated authority be granted to Merseytravel to approve such changes to franchised bus contracts during the franchise period as it considers necessary or appropriate for delivery of efficient, effective, reliable and affordable local bus services, subject to the conditions set out in paragraph 5 of this report.
