Purpose

The purpose of this report is to provide an
overview on the contract for the supply of prison library services
to HMP Liverpool from April 2025, the key issues, and budget
information.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
 
1)   
Accept the proposed contract extension terms for the supply of
prison library services from 1st April 2025 –
31st March 2029.

Alternative options considered

1.1         
Doing nothing is not an option. If the decision is not to approve
the contract for the delivery of the prison library service over
the next four years, LCC will need to cease delivery and withdraw
library staff from the site. HMP Liverpool will then be in a
position where they will have to source another library
supplier.
