Full council record
Purpose
Liverpool City Council have been awarded
funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority for
development of active travel improvements within the city. These
funds now need to be accepted by Liverpool City Council for
allocation to the projects.
Decision
For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
1)
accept capital grant funding of £300,000 from the LCRCA and
enter into the associated Grant Funding Agreement to receive the
funds.
2)
accept revenue grant funding of £50,000 from the LCRCA and
enter into the associated Grant Funding Agreement (GFA) to receive
the funds.
Alternative options considered
1.1
Do Minimum – Reducing the scope of the activities and
delivering reduced outputs would limit the number of people that
would be targeted in encouraging them to walk or cycle. This option
was therefore discounted.
1.2
Do Nothing - This option does not align with the
council’s goals of reducing car use and promoting active
travel. The Active Travel Fund will support a range of activities
that the council would not be able to fund otherwise. Therefore,
this option was rejected.
