Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
 
1)   
commence a procurement exercise using the Highways Planned
Framework to secure a contractor to deliver the Wavertree High
Street KRN project with an estimated financial value of
£3,000,000 exclusive of VAT.

Alternative options considered

1.1         
Do Nothing – this option has been discounted as the
Council has a responsibility to maintain the public highway for
which it is the Highway Authority. Doing nothing by not commencing
the intended procurement and undertaking these works to the highway
could result in a failure by the Council to comply with those
duties.
 
1.2         
In house provision – the council does not have in
house provision for the construction phase of the proposed project
and has no plans to incorporate such provision within the
council.
