Purpose

DAR for contract
extension for plus 12 months.

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:

Agree to the commencement of a procurement
process to seek to award a new contract to commence as from
1st February 2026 for a period of two years with the
option to extend the contract for up to an additional six
months

Alternative options considered

1.1
Doing nothing would result in the Council failing in its duties in
this regard. An alternative option to taking up the extension
period is to re-procure the service when the current contract comes
to an end and undertake a competitive procurement
exercise.  This option has been
discounted as this would be resource intensive and benchmarking has
indicated competitive costs of the current provider
