Decision

For the reasons set out in the report, it is
recommended to:  
 

Approve the virement of
£0.400M of approved capital budget (approved in Cabinet
October 2024) from capital code BPWSD10 (SDWAN
Implementation) to fund this investment. This request is for
budget reallocation only and is not approving any new
procurement.

Alternative options considered

1.1         
Work to maximise the use of cloud is online, and only those
workloads and applications which cannot be moved to cloud will
require the Council to retain a physical server
estate.  
1.2         
Do nothing is not an option as the current platform is at the end
of its service life.  Once all workloads have been specified
for cloud migration, the scale of requirement will be fully
understood, this will inform the scale and size of the required
expenditure.
