Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:

1)
Approve a variation to the existing Microsoft ESA contract with
Phoenix Software Limited to increase the total contract value by
£450k (exc VAT) in order to accommodate unforeseen growth in usage
to-date and to allow for anticipated future growth between now and
the contract end date of 30 June 2026.

Alternative options considered

1.1
Do nothing – this is not feasible as the Council requires
Microsoft licencing in order for ICT and
Digital Service to provide essential applications and enable
officers in the course of their duties.

1.2
Without scope for additional growth the Council will be unable to
continue to provide the licencing necessary for new starter and
additional Council services.
