Full council record
Purpose
Approval to enter into an NEC4 Short Contract
with Colas as a payment route in order for them to correct defects
that raised during Highways Investment Programme project(s)
Decision
For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
1)
Enter a NEC4 Short Contract with Supplier A for works relating to
the correction of defect(s) that arose
under a previous Highways Investment
Programme contract for an estimated period of two months and total
estimated value of £158,017.95 (excl. of VAT) funded by sums withheld from Supplier A under the previous
Highways Investment Programme contract.
Alternative options considered
1.1
Do nothing. This would result in the areas where the material has
been laid to continue to deteriorate and further Council
budget’s allocated and spent rectifying the areas.
1.2
Having the defect corrected by another contractor. This would be
costly and have longer timescales associated with procuring a new
contractor.
1.3
In house provision. The Council does
not have capacity for works of this nature.
