Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Director has decided to:
1)    
Approve the variation of contract DN753421: Application Hosting,
Backup, Disaster Recovery and Implementation Services with Phoenix
Software Ltd to include the provision of a managed firewall service
requirement commencing in November 2025 to the contract end date of
31 March 2030 at a cost of £205.3k (exc VAT).

Alternative options considered

Proceed without incorporating the detailed
service specification into the contract. This would present a risk
to the Council’s ability to effectively manage the supplier
without defined service levels, key performance indicators, terms
and conditions; meaning exposure to a degraded level of service and
increased security risk.
 
Retender the service.  Would significantly impact the delivery of change,
increasing cost, prevent / delay the vacating of Premier Court
Datacentre.
