Procurement of a contractor to construct a
temporary car park for use by staff at Millstead Primary School
South

Decision

For the reasons set out in this report, the
Corporate Director has decided to:
1)   
Commence a procurement process for a contractor to deliver a
temporary car park at a location adjacent Millstead Primary School
South, Naylorsfield Drive, at an
estimated total value of £120,000, excluding VAT.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing – this is not an option due
to the known existing highways issues outside of the school. These
issues will only increase with the addition of new temporary staff
and additional pick up/drop off vehicles therefore traffic
mitigation measures are required as part of the Project
delivery.
 
Expand existing car park within school
boundary – expansion of the existing car park has been
designed and an additional 6 space could
be provided. However, this would still not provide enough
additional spaces to accommodate all staff and visitor parking and
mitigate the highways issues being experienced. A temporary car
park for staff to use will help to address this.
